Nothing defines a trade show like pipe and drape. It turns an empty hall into a floor plan, divides exhibitor booths, defines aisles, screens back-of-house areas and creates clean backdrops for signage.

How Do You Climate Control A Tented Expo?
Houston’s climate is the single largest risk to a tented expo, and it is the one most organizers underestimate. A hot, humid hall empties by mid-afternoon regardless of how good the exhibitors are.

Staging, Flooring And Power
A working expo needs more than cover. We supply staging for keynotes, demonstrations and awards; hard flooring and carpet so the floor is level, clean and safe for wheeled cases and heavy traffic; and power distribution with cable ramps so exhibitor booths can run displays and equipment safely.

Move-In Is a Deadline, Not a Suggestion
Most expo problems are schedule problems rather than equipment problems. A tented venue has to be built, dressed and handed over to exhibitors before the show opens, and every one of those stages takes longer than the plan usually allows.
- Structure install — one to three days for a substantial hall depending on span, surface and weather. This cannot be compressed safely.
- Flooring and power — a further day, and it has to follow the structure rather than run in parallel.
- Drape and booth grid — typically a day, once flooring is down and the layout is marked.
- Exhibitor load-in — a full day before opening for anything above about thirty booths. Exhibitors will always want more time than you have allocated.
- Teardown — exhibitors out first, then drape, then flooring, then structure. Plan two days and do not schedule the site handover for the same evening.
Budgeting A Tented Expo Honestly
The structure is rarely the largest line in a tented expo budget, which surprises most first-time organizers. Flooring, climate control and power together frequently exceed the tent itself, and they are the three items most often left out of an initial estimate.
Price the complete package from the beginning rather than starting with a tent quote and adding services later. It produces a realistic number sooner, and it avoids the far worse outcome of discovering at week six that the budget covers cover but not cooling. If the full specification does not fit, there are usually sensible reductions available — a smaller structure with a tighter booth grid, carpet instead of hard flooring on level ground, or a shorter show over fewer days — and we would rather have that conversation early.
How Do You Choose A Site?
Almost any reasonably flat, accessible area of adequate size can host a tented expo, but sites differ enormously in how much they cost to use. Level asphalt with adjacent power and good truck access is the cheapest possible site. An unimproved field on a slope, with no power and a single narrow gate, can add more to the budget than the structure costs.
Worth checking before you commit: drainage and what the ground does after rain; overhead power lines and tree canopy; gate widths and turning circles for articulated delivery; distance to the nearest usable power supply; parking and attendee flow from parking to entrance; and whether the site owner’s insurance and permitting requirements are workable. As a rough starting point, a standard 10×10 booth plus its share of aisle space consumes roughly 200 square feet of gross floor. So fifty exhibitors needs on the order of 10,000 square feet before you add registration, seminar space, catering and back-of-house. Yes. Structure, booth drape, aisle definition, registration draping and back-of-house screening all come from us on the same delivery, installed by the same crew. This is generally simpler and cheaper than sourcing drape separately.
Yes, and for any Houston expo between roughly May and October we would treat it as essential rather than optional. We size cooling to the structure volume and expected attendance. An uncooled tented hall in August will not hold attendees past midday.

Yes. We supply hard flooring and carpet systems rated for wheeled cases, pallet jacks and heavy foot traffic, which also solves the level-floor problem on grass and uneven ground.
Both. We anchor to asphalt and concrete with ballast or mechanical fixings and install on turf, gravel and compacted base. Tell us the surface early because it affects anchoring, flooring and install time.
