Staging, dance floors, flooring, lighting and audio/video — the production layer that turns a covered space into an event. ACME has supplied it across Houston since 1997. Pick a category below, or read on.

What Counts As Event Production Equipment?
Everything that turns a room into a show.
Tents give you the space and furniture fills it — but neither makes anything happen. Production is the layer on top: something to stand on, something to dance on, something to walk on, something to see by, and something to be heard through.
ACME groups it four ways. Stages and dance floors raise and define. Flooring and carpet cover the ground. Lighting decides whether any of it works after dark. Audio and video carry the message.
Most events need two or three of the four. Almost none need only one.
When Do You Need A Stage?
Whenever more than about three rows of people need to see the same thing.
On a flat floor, a speaker or performer at ground level disappears behind the front row. A riser fixes it — which is why staging and podiums are so often quoted together, and why bleachers solve the same problem from the audience side.
ACME’s staging builds from 4’x4′ sections, so the deck is sized to the job rather than the other way round. Stage steps in two heights get people up safely, and skirting hides what is under the deck.

What Should You Know About Dance Floors?
A dance floor is sized by how many people dance, not how many attend — and that is usually a fraction.
ACME’s floors build from 3’x3′ panels, so the floor scales to the room. Four finishes: white, black, oak, and black and white chequer. White and chequer are statements; oak is warm and neutral; black disappears and lets lighting do the work.
Placement matters as much as size. A dance floor at the edge of a room stays empty; one between the bar and the tables fills. And it wants solid, level ground under it — see flooring.
What Does Event Lighting Actually Do?
Two completely different jobs, and people usually only budget for one.
Atmosphere: twinkle lights, Edison bulb string lights and LED wash bars are what make a tent look like an event after dark. Colour-changing par cans turn a white wall into whatever you want.
Function: light towers and LED low bay lights are how people find the car park, the exit and the food. Nobody photographs them and every event needs them.
Both need power, and power needs cable — extension cords and adapters are part of the order, not an afterthought.

What Audio And Video Does An Event Need?
Start with one question: does everyone need to hear one person?
If yes, you need a PA system and a microphone — ACME stocks 150W two-speaker and 400W single-speaker systems, wired and wireless mic kits, and standard and boom stands. A Bluetooth speaker covers smaller, informal setups.
If people need to see something, that is projection — a 1080p projector with a 70″x70″ or 12’x9′ screen, or an LED TV on a rolling stand for smaller rooms. Truss holds it all up where there is nothing to hang from.

How Do These Pieces Work Together?
In a specific order, and getting it wrong costs a day.
The ground goes first — flooring under everything. Then staging and the dance floor on top of it. Then lighting and AV, which need the structure up first because they hang from it. Then power tying it together.
Every one of those depends on the one before. That is why booking production through one vendor matters more than it does for tables and chairs — a single crew installs it in sequence rather than four suppliers arriving in the wrong order.
What About Power?
The most commonly underestimated part of an event.
Lighting, sound, projection, catering and climate control all draw, and an outdoor site has none of it. Generators and distribution get sized against the actual load — which means totalling what you are running before the day, not discovering it during setup.
Then the cable. Runs have to reach, and they have to not cross a walkway without being covered. Extension cords, adapters and cable ramps are part of the plan.

How Does Delivery And Setup Work?
Production equipment is delivered and installed. It is the part of an event most dependent on sequence and access.
ACME Party and Tent has served Houston since 1997 and delivers across Greater Houston and the Gulf Coast, including Katy, Sugar Land, The Woodlands and Galveston. Booking staging, flooring, lighting and AV with your tent means one delivery window and one crew who install it in the right order.
Worth confirming: truck access, the surface, what you are powering, whether the layout changes during the event, and when the space is free for setup and strike.
Our event setup and management team handles the whole build where you want it run for you. Request a quote or call 713-729-2424.
