Site Surveying

Walk the site before the trucks roll — ACME measures, checks access and ground conditions, and plans your tent and equipment layout to fit the real space.

Why the Best Events Start With a Tape Measure

Most event problems are site problems in disguise: a tent that will not fit between the trees, a delivery truck that cannot clear the gate, a lawn that slopes more than anyone remembered, a sprinkler line exactly where a stake needs to go. An event site survey catches these issues weeks before they become event-day emergencies. ACME Party and Tent has been surveying and measuring Houston event sites since 1997, and it is one of the most valuable services we offer — because everything else we do depends on getting the site right.

Whether the venue is a backyard in Sugar Land, a corporate campus, a downtown plaza, or a refinery laydown yard, our team walks the ground, measures the usable space, and turns what we find into a workable equipment plan.

What We Check During a Site Survey

A thorough survey looks well beyond square footage:

The result is a layout recommendation matched to real conditions — not a guess from an aerial photo.

From Measurements to a Working Layout

Once the site is measured, we translate the numbers into decisions: which tent style and size actually fits, whether the ground calls for staking or ballast, where flooring or subfloor should level a slope, how guests will flow between spaces, and where catering, restrooms, and power should live. Those recommendations connect directly to our catalog — tents, flooring, staging, climate control, and power — so the plan and the equipment come from the same accountable vendor.

For complex events, the survey feeds our broader event setup and management service, including electrical layout planning and full installation scheduling.

When to Book a Survey

The short answer: before you commit to a layout, and ideally before invitations or exhibitor kits go out. Early surveys leave time to adjust — a different tent orientation, a subfloor over uneven ground, or a revised guest count that the space can genuinely hold. Surveys are scheduled through our office at 713-729-2424, by-appointment Monday through Friday, and we survey sites across Houston and Southeast Texas.

Frequently Asked Questions

A site survey is an on-site visit where we measure the usable space and evaluate ground conditions, access, overhead clearances, and power availability. The findings drive tent selection, anchoring method, and the overall equipment layout.

It depends on the scope. Small deliveries often do not need one, but if a tent, staging, or a large guest count is involved, a survey is the cheapest insurance you can buy against fit and access problems.

Yes. We survey corporate campuses, venues, and industrial facilities across Houston and Southeast Texas, and our crews are accustomed to gate access, escorts, and site safety requirements at working facilities.

We turn them into a recommended layout and equipment list — tent style and size, anchoring approach, flooring needs, and power plan — which becomes the basis of your quote.

As early as possible, ideally before your layout and guest count are locked. Early findings leave time to adjust the plan without pressure.
