Cooking Equipment

Cooking equipment is for events that cook on site rather than deliver hot. Part of ACME’s food and beverages range.

When Do You Need Cooking Equipment?

When the food is made where the guests are.

Most catered events cook off site and arrive hot — those need chafing dishes, not a griddle. Cooking equipment is for the other kind: a company barbecue, a crawfish boil, a tailgate, a festival stall, a breakfast where someone is making eggs to order.

The distinction matters because it changes the whole order. Cooking on site means fuel, ventilation, prep space, waste, and someone whose job is cooking. Holding food hot means a chafer and a table.

If nobody on your run of show is standing over heat, you do not need this page — you need food warmers.

What Is The 4 Burner Gas Griddle For?

Volume, and food that cooks flat.

ACME’s 4 burner gas griddle is a flat-top: burgers, breakfast, fajitas, onions, anything that wants a large continuous hot surface rather than grates. Four burners means you can run zones — a hot side for searing and a cooler side for holding — which is how one person feeds a queue.

A flat top beats a grill for events for an unglamorous reason: nothing falls through it, and it cleans down.

It runs on gas, so plan the fuel. And it needs a stable, level surface with clearance around it — plus somewhere for whoever is cooking to actually stand.

What Does On-Site Cooking Need Around It?

More than the equipment, and this is where events get caught out.

Space and surfaces. Prep tables, a landing zone for cooked food, somewhere for raw ingredients — see tables. Waste and cleanup, which is housekeeping.

Cover. Cooking outdoors in Houston means cooking in a downpour eventually — a tent over the cooking line is not decoration. But a cooking appliance under a tent has its own fire and ventilation considerations, so tell us the plan rather than improvising.

Permits. Food service at a public event commonly involves health department approvals, and cooking under a temporary structure can attract fire marshal review — see our Houston permit guide.

How Does Delivery Work?

Cooking equipment is delivered with the rest of your order and placed where the cooking line is going.

ACME has served Houston since 1997 and delivers across Greater Houston and the Gulf Coast, including Katy, Sugar Land, The Woodlands and Galveston.

Worth confirming: where the griddle stands and what it stands on, who supplies fuel, whether it sits under cover, and what the health and fire requirements are for your venue and event type.

Equipment should be returned clean — items needing extra cleaning attract additional charges, and cooking equipment is the category where that bites hardest. Request a quote or call 713-729-2424.
