What Audio And Video Does Your Event Need?
Two questions settle almost every AV order.
Does everyone need to hear one person? If yes, you need a PA and a microphone. A room of fifty at a wedding toast and a conference of three hundred both fail the same way without it — people at the back stop listening.
Does everyone need to see something? If yes, you need projection or a screen. Slides, a video, a sponsor reel, a name on a graduation list.
If the answer to both is no, you probably need a speaker for background music and nothing else. If the answer to either is yes, it is worth getting right — bad sound is the fastest way to lose a room.
Which PA System Do You Need?
It depends on the room and the crowd, not the guest list alone.
The 150W two-speaker PA covers most standard events — a wedding, a small conference, a presentation in a tent. Two speakers means you cover a room from two points rather than blasting from one.
The 400W single-speaker Harbinger PA with mic pushes more power from one point, which suits a longer throw or a noisier environment.
The Monster Rockin Roller 360 is the informal option — Bluetooth, indoor/outdoor, battery-friendly. For background music, a small gathering or somewhere with no power nearby, it is often all you need.
Outdoors, sound disperses. A system that fills a room indoors will feel thin in a field — tell us where it is going.
Wired Or Wireless Microphones?
The answer is about how the speaker moves.
The Phenyx Pro wireless mic kit is right when the speaker moves — an officiant, a presenter working a stage, an award night where the mic passes between people. No cable means no trip hazard and no run to plan.
A wired mic on a stand is right when the speaker stays put — a podium, a panel, a lectern. It is simpler and there is no battery to think about.
Stands matter more than people expect. A standard mic stand suits a speaker standing at a podium; a boom stand reaches over a table, an instrument or a seated panel.

Projector Or TV?
Room size and light decide it.
A projector — the Epson Pro EX9220 1080p — plus a screen gives you a big image for a big room. ACME stocks a 70″x70″ screen for standard rooms and an XL 12’x9′ screen for large audiences. The catch is light: projection wants controlled lighting, and a bright tent at midday will wash it out.
A 55″–70″ HD LED TV on a rolling stand is the opposite trade. Smaller image, but bright, sharp and unaffected by ambient light — right for a trade show booth, a lobby, a smaller room, or anywhere you cannot dim.
Rough rule: big dark room, projector. Small bright space, TV.
What Is Truss For?
Truss is structure for everything you need to hang where there is nothing to hang from.
Indoors you have a ceiling. In a tent or outdoors you have nothing — so lights, screens, speakers and banners need their own framework. A truss system is that framework.
It is also a look. A truss frame around a stage or a backdrop reads as production value, which is why it appears at concerts, trade shows and brand activations even when the rigging could have been hidden.
If your plan involves hanging lighting or a screen and you are not inside a building, truss is probably part of the order.
How Do You Power And Connect It All?
Every piece of AV needs power, and outdoor sites have none.
Generators and distribution get sized against the whole load — AV plus lighting plus catering plus climate. Sound is particularly unforgiving of an underpowered supply.
Then the physical connections: cable runs that reach, adapters where they do not, and covering for anything crossing a walkway. A three-way adapter behind a podium is a small thing that stops a scramble.
The other half is people. Someone needs to know how to run it on the day — worth deciding early whether that is your team or our event setup team.
Which Houston Events Need AV?
More than the obvious ones.
Conferences, panels and training are the clear cases — sound and screens are the event. Award nights need a mic that passes between presenters and a screen for names. Weddings need a PA for the ceremony readings and toasts, which is the single most common AV gap we see.
Trade shows need screens at booth level and sound that does not fight the hall. Festivals need a stage PA. Graduations need names heard and seen.
The constant: if anyone speaks to everyone, you need AV — however informal the event feels when you are planning it.

AV is delivered and set up — and it is the last thing in and the first thing out.
