China & Tableware

China is what your food is served on, and it decides how the table reads before anyone tastes anything. Part of ACME’s food and beverages range.

Why Rent China Instead Of Using Disposables?

Because the plate is the table setting, and disposables announce themselves.

At a seated meal, china is what makes the table look set rather than laid out. It has weight, it does not flex under a knife, and it photographs like an event rather than a catered lunch. For a wedding, a gala or a client dinner, that difference is the entire point.

There is a practical side too. China does not blow off a table at an outdoor Houston event, and it handles a hot plate without bending.

Where disposables win is volume and speed — a festival, a company picnic, anywhere plates go straight in a bin. Match the plate to the occasion.

How Much China Does A Seated Meal Need?

Count courses, not guests.

A one-course buffet needs one plate per guest. A three-course plated dinner needs a plate per course per guest — and if the caterer is not clearing and re-using, that is three times your headcount before anyone asks for seconds.

Then the extras nobody counts: side plates, dessert plates, cups and saucers if coffee is served at the table.

Your caterer knows the service plan and it drives the whole number. Ask them first, then order — that conversation is five minutes and saves an emergency on the day.

What Goes With China On The Table?

China is one layer of a table setting, and it rarely arrives alone.

Flatware and glassware go down with it — the fork, the knife, the water goblet, the wine glass. A linen goes under all of it and does more visual work than any single piece on top.

Under that, the table itself — the size of which decides how many settings fit and therefore how much china you need.

Order them together. Table size drives the setting count, the setting count drives the china, and the linen has to be cut for the table. Split those decisions across four suppliers and something will not match.

How Does China Come Back?

Rinsed clean, dry, and in the containers it arrived in.

China, glassware, silverware and serving pieces should be returned refuse-free and in their original containers. Items needing extra cleaning attract additional charges — which is a small cost that arrives after the event, when nobody is expecting it.

The fix is assigning it. Someone has to be responsible for scraping and stacking at breakdown, and if nobody is named, nobody does it.

Damage and shortages sit with the lessee from delivery to return, so keeping china together and counted matters as much as keeping it clean.
